The Better Brush basting brushes are made of a high-heat resistant silicone that can withstand heat up to 562 degrees. Unlike most traditional brushes, the silicone won't melt, fray, shed, stain, retain odors, or lose their shape. Additionally, these are extremely easy to clean, and are dishwasher safe.

This kit includes three different sizes of brushes:

- Pastry Brush (for say an egg wash, buttering pans, pies, etc.) This is 7" long.

- Cooking Brush (for basic kitchen use, oven basting, etc.) This is just over 8" long.

- Barbecue/Oven Brush (extra long handle provides distance from the heat.) A full 14" long.

The brush heads on the Cooking Brush and Barbecue Brush are the exact same size, just the handle is longer on the BBQ Brush. The brush head on the Pastry Brush is narrower than the other two.

The "bristles" are a bright yellow (easy to find in your drawer), and the handles are made of black plastic. There are hanging holes at the end of the handles. The handles have a flat shape with some textured ridges for a good grip. 

Also, the brush heads come off the handles for thorough cleaning, if necessary. They just pull off, and push back on
