VAGCOM is a pc-based diagnostic software that uses an intelligent cable to communicate with your car's electronic control systems. This is the latest version of VAGCOM which uses the VCDS diagnostic software from Ross-Tech version 10.6.
This diagnostic tool covers most VW and Audi models including VW variants like the SEAT models (some wee released as VW Polo here in the Philippines). It basically can diagnose all VW and Audi cars with 16 pin DLC (data link connector).
The VAGCOM system goes deep into your car systems, a lot deeper than what ordinary and even multi-car-brand workshop level tools can do. It can do the following:
- Read and clear fault codes / DTC (diagnostic trouble codes)
- Display live data using Measuring Blocks
- Do adaptations
- Do basic ECU settings and coding
It can diagnose engine, transmission, ABS, Airbag, climate control, body electronics and other computer/electronic systems in your VW or Audi.
This system is pc-based and hence requires that you install the software on a notebook. The cable connects via your PC's USB port and the other end of the cable connects to your car's DLC.
