PAUL THE EMISSARY & APOSTLE PAUL (2in1)
PAUL THE EMISSARY: The early first century followers of Jesus were a small, struggling group within Judaism who seemingly posed no threat to anyone, certainly not the mighty Roman empire. But there was one determined to see this fledging faith exterminated. His name was Saul and he became the greatest persecutor of the early church. But within a matter of a few years, the Christians fiercest opponent became their most effective advocate. Struck down by a powerful conversion experience on the road to Damascus, Saul -- his name changed to Paul -- went on to become the greatest missionary in the history of Christianity. He went on to write more of the New Testament books than any other. In this impressive drama starring Gary Cooper we follow Saul the angry zealot to Paul the servant of Christ who will pay any price to bring his message to the world.
APOSTLE PAUL and the Earliest Church: Ephesus, Antioch, Tarsus, Galatia - an illuminating visit to the New Testament!Apostle Paul and the Earliest Churches is a brilliant and illuminating production (documentary). Beginning with his conversion, it reenacts Paul's missionary journeys on Anatolian soil (modern Turkey). This film contains an archeological treasury: mosaics, frescoes, statues, amphitheaters, agoras, tmples, and more. The historical, religious, and archeological background of each Anatolian region in which Paul preached the gospel is explained. Yet Apostle Paul is more than an archeological or historical survey; this production's reinactment of the miracles Paul performed, the difficulties Paul encountered, and the persecution Paul faced beckons the viewer to experience with the Apostle himself the birth of the Christian Church. The film's archeological emphasis is enhanced by 3D animated maps and footage of Antioch on the Orontes, Pisidian Antioch, Ephesus, Tarsus, and other cities important to Paul's ministry. Significant artifacts from a variety of Turkish museums are also discussed.
