Audio visual signalling specialist, Klaxon Signals has appointed Barry Simpson as its new Regional Sales Manager.
Barry has many years of experience working in the Fire and Security industry and joins Klaxon Signals from Fire Detection systems specialist, Emergi-lite where he held the position of Regional Sales Manager. Prior to his position at Emergi-lite, he worked as a design engineer at Tyco on large scale Marine & Offshore, gas, fire, and flood projects.
Stuart Mason Klaxon s Sales Director remarked, I am glad to welcome Barry on board he brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge of the fire industry. I am sure he will fit right in with our company s core strategy, enabling us to continue our growth within the industry.

Klaxon Signals has developed an all encompassing range of industrial warning devices to meet the needs of specialised applications in all industrial environments. The range varies from traditional robust motor driven sirens to the more sophisticated electronic sirens and serves to notify personnel of any changes in the immediate environment such as potential hazards.

Klaxon s motor driven siren range is rugged in construction with a high sound output to overcome most levels background noise such as that generated in mining and quarrying applications.
With advancements in siren technology, electronic sirens have been introduced to the market in the form of the Nexus industrial sounder. With a choice of 110dB and 120dB sound outputs, IP66 protection, 3 alarm stages, and 64 tones, these sirens can be used in a variety of general signalling applications. Combined sounder beacon units are available for compliancy with the Disability and Discrimination ACT.
For visual signalling applications, Klaxon s industrial beacons provide effective warning by diffusing a greater spread of light. Beacons are fitted with either LED or Xenon beacons and are available with varying light outputs of 5J, 10J and 24J.
Klaxon s industrial products are used in conveyors, cranes, moving machinery, as process control alarms and in marine and general signalling applications. Whatever the requirement, Klaxon Signals has a signalling device.

To protect the lives of people and workers in a variety of environments, Klaxon Signals offers a selection of wide area warning siren systems in its product range. Advanced technology in siren control means a selection of warning systems are available to cover varied applications such as COMAH sites, Petrochemical, Nuclear, Defence and construction industries and environmental disaster areas.

Conventional motor driven sirens, including ATEX approved models, are manufactured using robust technology for use in both safe and hazardous outdoor environments.
Sophisticated Electronic sirens are available for safe area operation, emitting pre-recorded or live voice messages in addition to traditional tones. A full range of control equipment is available: stand alone hard wire switch control; computer system control; radio and/or satellite controlled link units.
Electronic sirens are designed to perform silent tests at a designated time which determines the operational capability of the siren. Any loss of power on site will not affect the battery operated siren as an AC power supply is only required to maintain the battery charge.
Klaxon provides a full product and customer service package that includes pre-and-post project evaluation, staff training and maintenance. Klaxon Signals will also work with customers to develop tailor made products to meet special requirements.

The Nexus Voice Sounder from Klaxon Signals is a fire alarm that combines normal sounder signals with a clear, synchronised voice message to provide authoritative instruction that eliminates confusion after an alarm sounds.

Units are available with 4 pre-programmed messages, selected from a message library that covers an extensive range of applications, and bespoke messages are also available on request. The unique horn design feature ensures superior message quality over other voice sounders available in the market.

The Sonos Voice Sounder from Klaxon Signals is a fire alarm that combines a normal sounder with a clear, synchronised voice message to help reduce confusion and distress during an active alarm. The unique horn design feature ensures superior message quality over other voice sounders available in the market.

The Voice Enhanced Sounders are available with either single or multi message options. The single message Sonos is an entry level device designed to broadcast an evacuation message in small to medium fire alarm installations and is preceded by a selectable alarm tone.
The multi message sounders are appropriate for larger installations where alert and evacuate messages are required for staged evacuation. Up to four messages can be transmitted over two wires via an interface unit that monitors the sounder circuit outputs from the fire alarm panel. A test facility is available through a key switch mounted on the interface unit which emits an All Clear message when the key switch is returned to its original position.
Both Sonos voice enhanced variants are available as sounders or sounder-beacons in either red or white, with shallow or deep base (IP65) options for both indoor and outdoor applications. A choice of 32 tones is available, including all international standards.

The Nexus Gas Extinguishant Voice Sounder from Klaxon Signals is a fire alarm designed specifically to meet the requirements of gas extinguishant systems by supplying four stages of alarm, each with a separate and distinct fire warning message and tone.

This sounder comes complete with an interface unit that connects directly to the sounder and extinguishant panel. The interface unit monitors the outputs from the panel and sends out the appropriate message and tone via the sounder. A choice of up to 7 messages can be stored in the sounder and each message is preceded by a dedicated user selectable tone and/or flashing LED beacon. Sonos Base Provides Extra Space

Audio Visual signalling specialist Klaxon Signals has re-engineered its existing Sonos range of fire alarms to include extra space in deep base variants. This added feature can accommodate a variety of protocol chips to allow multiple functions and solve almost any type of OEM specification or requirement.

For example, voltage step up boosters can be incorporated at the base to form part of a security system, and a Diode Base variant has been specifically designed for monitoring head removal on conventional fire alarm sounder circuits.
The enhanced Deep Base Sonos sounders and sounder-beacons are available to specification for various fire, security and industrial applications.
Installation is quick and easy as heads are simply locked onto the base with a twist and click action, allowing fitting or removal at any time as the base is the only component needing to be wired; less cabling reduces commissioning time and costs.
The Enhanced Deep Base Sonos is weatherproof to IP65 and can be used in all locations both indoors and out. Wide voltage ranges between 8 and 60V for DC units and 110/230V for AC units are available, along with a choice of 32 tones including all of the major international standards making the product universally acceptable.
