PERFORMANCE
Despite its SUV pedigree, the Captiva is ideal for the urban commute. Its trim exterior proportions ensure class-leading maneuverability in everyday driving conditions. The Captiva features a four-link independent rear suspension system and MacPherson struts up front that deliver car-like ride and handling even on imperfect road surfaces. A unique feature of the Captiva is a soft ride suspension system, which automatically maintains minimal ride height under differing load conditions – a feature that offers assured road clearance as well as optimal ride quality for passengers.
Under the Chevrolet Captiva’s handsome new hood is an improved gasoline or turbocharged with intercooler diesel engine. The 2.4L gasoline Captiva variant can produce 165hp @ 3,800rpm matched with 229 Nm @ 4,600rpm of torque. Its 2.0 liter CRDi diesel engine can produce a maximum power output of 163hp@ 3,800rpm and torque rating of 360Nm @ 2750rpm. The 2012 Chevy Captiva is equipped with advanced technologies aimed at delivering optimal performance and fuel economy.
All engines and variants are coupled to a six speed automatic transmission with a manual mode and equipped with an ECO button making the Captiva an efficient and environmentally friendly SUV.
INTERIOR
Climbing aboard the new Captiva, the first impression is one of abundant light and spaciousness. It's a quality that has always been there with the Chevrolet Captiva, but now with the enhancements to the exterior design, the interior's ambience has been taken up several notches in terms of quality and functionality
The Captiva has been constructed to maximize space. The 5 + 2 Flexi Seating arrangement can comfortably accommodate seven adults and can be transformed into an adaptable luggage carrier in a flash.
Practicality is prioritized in the 2012 Chevy Captiva as its interior is equipped with an array of high-tech amenities that promote comfort and convenience. Among the Chevy Captiva’s impressive interior features are: an electric parking brake switch, steering wheel mounted cruise control and audio buttons, three power outlet locations, a driver information center, auto electronic air conditioner controls, and provisions for a mobile telephone with bluetooth! Other convenience features include front cup holders, document/notes holders, and a rear cargo floor box.
The Captiva’s all-leather seating and matching cabin exude total luxury, while an integrated CD/MP3 player with six speakers provides an extremely pleasurable listening experience. The Captiva's new upgraded interior now features an array of new finishes and textures, taking the new model up-market in feel and look.
EXTERIOR
With its boldly contoured hood, projector headlamps and eye-catching signature Chevrolet grille that features a prominent Chevrolet bowtie, the Captiva is sure to turn heads wherever it is driven.
In profile, the Captiva comes across as both rugged and sophisticated. Bold wheel arches, mounted on alloy wheels and a sharp feature line across the length of the Captiva add to the masculinity of its stance, while subtle chrome highlights and a bold coupe-style rear window treatment add grace to the overall visual package.
The Captiva’s rear design is dominated by a large tailgate and substantial vertical tail lamps with indicators and reversing lamps contained in circular elements.
