The Zeikos 52/58mm 0.40x Super Fisheye Lens is an auxiliary lens that attaches to the front of an existing lens with a 52mm filter thread. For lenses with a 58mm thread a step-down ring is included. This auxiliary lens, when added to the front of your camera's lens, will create a circular image which will be 0.40x wider than your existing lens. This fisheye lens is made with multicoated optical glass, and has a steel barrel. Using this "auxiliary" fisheye lens is an economical alternative to buying expensive wide-angle lenses.

Wide-angle video conversion lens is designed for camera and video cameras that have higher resolution. The lens widens the angle of view by multiplying the focal length of the video camera by 0.40x times. FYI: This is a super wide angle or mild fisheye. Some companies have different names for them. Difference between a normal wide angle which is .6X or .7X starts at .45X and lower. The lower the X factor, the wider the image will be distorted as fisheye effect and the more expensive the lens gets. This is for a 0.40X super wide lens that will give you a great fisheye effect when used in zoom out settings on your cam without sacrificing your budget. Use the fisheye effect for sports, artistic and radical pictures. Macro capability: This lens has two halves that work together as a fisheye. To use the macro portion alone, you have to unscrew it from the lens. Remember the AF will not allway work when using it for macro photography, in that case you will need to use manual focus by adjusting the distance from the camcorder/camera to the object.
